Coffee with a Picked Tomato

Coffee with a Picked Tomato
Mixed Media on Arches 140 lb. paper

I painted this from a photo last summer. The coffee mug is one of my favorites from the Lark & Key Gallery. The tomato came from my tomato plant... a Better Boy, I think.

Statice Study

Statice Study
Watercolor on 5"x7" watercolor paper

This flower is the last remaining flower from a bouquet that had filled my vase. I tossed out flowers as they decayed but this flower is resilient and hardy. I decided to reward it with a sketch study and watercolor portrait. What a trooper!

Unfurnished, no heat or AC, no running water or toilets but what a lovely location. Saw this little fixer-upper at Squirrel Lake Park in Matthews, NC.

Saw and photographed this bird at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, Florida. So many birds at this beautiful park! But this fellow stood out. He was literally strutting his fluff!

Deer I Met While on a Walk

Deer I Met While on a Walk
Acrylics on 6"x6"x3/4" stretched canvas

I love deer. My weekend walks along a nature trail, is not complete until I see one. They are so graceful and gentle. I adore pictures of dads with their kids trying to feed these timid creatures. Once you get up close and personal with them, how can you kill them? Sorry, got political... art goes there often.
