Timothy's Floral

Timothy's Floral
Acrylics 5x7 inches on stretched canvas

I did the final touches on this painting while holding my adorable grandson, Timothy. I couldn't put him down. I held him with my left arm seated and grabbed my brush with my right hand and applied some very loose flowers. Holding him helped me abstract this floral. I like it. Thanks, Timothy, for your help!

30 Minutes With A Rose

30 Minjutes with a Rose
First of Daily Exercises using Mixed Media

I am a meticulous painter who desperately needs to loosen up. One suggestion was to do timed paintings. 30 minutes is great with loose media like watercolors, pastel crayons and pencil/ink. I enjoyed it. I grabbed a rose from my garden and for future studies will choose whatever is close by and inspiring. Tomrrow? I might go mum.

I just saw this in my garden and thought, "Why not?" Another day of temporary beauty immortalized... sort of.

Yep, growing some squash. I hear the blossoms make great frittatas. Will have to check it out. In the meantime, they make great painting subjects too.
